Officials are still investigating the cause of a Sunday morning fire that destroyed a garage, shed and two vehicles in Hanover.
Penn Township Volunteer Emergency Services and the Hanover Fire Department were dispatched to 31 and 33 W. Hanover St. at 6:21 a.m. where they found the garage, shed and both vehicles already on fire, said Tony Clousher, a firefighter with Hanover. Though separate addresses, both homes are one building and the garage was attached to the building. One vehicle was in the garage while the other, a Ford Escape, was parked by the shed, Clousher said. He was unsure what the other vehicle was.
A neighbor called in the fire and when firefighters arrived both families that lived in the building were still asleep, Clousher said.
No one was injured in the fire.
Firefighters fought the blaze for about an hour and a half. The cause is still under investigation by the Hanover Police Department and Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal, Clousher said.
The state police fire marshal was on scene later Sunday morning. A ruling is expected later today.
