A convicted sex offender faces new indecent assault charges stemming from 2002 when, police allege, he sexually assaulted a 6-year-old girl.
During an Oct. 24 interview at the York County Child Advocacy Center, the girl, now 12, said she was sexually abused by 44-year-old Patrick L. Crawford, who then lived on Shorbs Hill Road, West Manheim Township, police said.
The alleged victim told police Crawford abused her on several occasions between March and August 2002 while she was living with him, according to court documents.
On Nov. 5, police spoke with Crawford, who confirmed the victim and her mother lived with him at the time and admitted to "committing unlawful sexual acts with children," according to court documents.
Crawford said he was not sure if the abuse occurred but did not deny it, police said. He added he was often drunk and "did a lot of things that he was ashamed of," according to court documents.
He then said: "If that's what she said happened, then that's what happened," according to court documents.
Crawford faces two counts each of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and indecent assault and one count each of indecent assault, unlawful contact with a minor and corruption of minors.
Crawford is currently being held at Camp Hill state prison after pleading guilty to and being sentenced to five to 10 years for three 2002 cases that involved rape and incest.
He is scheduled to appear before Magisterial
