  • Rescue Me Yorkie Rescue is seeking sponsors, contributors and exhibitors for its Small Dog Expo on Oct. 24 at the York Expo Center, 334 Carlisle Ave., West Manchester Township. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Geared just for little dogs (up to 25 lbs.) and their people, the expo will feature up to 150 vendors with all kinds of doggy products and services, as well as fun-filled activities throughout the day, including raffles, a Howl-O-Ween costume contest, BARKO bingo, Tiny Tails Races, Parade of Rescues, a yard sale, a microchip/vaccine clinic and more. Admission is $8. Five levels of sponsorship are available to support the event. Sponsors will be featured in the event program and on the rescue's Web site, www.yorkierescueme.com.   • PAWS' all-you-can-eat Spay-ghetti Dinner will be 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 24 at Dover Township Community Fire Company, 3700 Davidsburg Road, Dover Township (Dover, PA). Dinner includes all-you-can-eat spaghetti and sauce, meatballs, salad, bread, beverage and one dessert. Dine-in or carryout available. Cost is $7 for adults; $3 for children 6 to 10 years old; and free for children 5 and younger. The event also includes raffles, door prizes and merchandise sales.   • Black Tie & Tails 2009, a benefit for Susquehanna Service Dogs, will be 6 to 10 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, at the Sheraton Harrisburg-Hershey Hotel, 4650 Lindle Road, Harrisburg, PA. This annual event encourages attendees to bring their dog "dressed to impress" to participate in an evening of "black tie" fun. The event will be hosted by Flora Posteraro of ABC 27, and will include a reception, dinner and a formal presentation of all canine guests. Tery Rowe Pet Portraiture will be on hand to take portraits of guests and their best friends for a donation to SSD. There will be a silent auction, a live auction and entertainment by Andrew Bellanca & Friends. Tickets are $100 per person.   • PAWS' third annual Raise Your Paws Masquerade Ball will be 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at the Antique Auto Museum in Hershey, PA. Guests can enjoy dinner, drinks and dancing while helping to save the lives of homeless pets. Costumes are optional. Radio personality Patsy Sympson of 101.3 the Rose, WROZ-FM, will serve as master of ceremonies, and music will be provided by Mycenea Worley and DJ Retro. The event will include a tour of the auto museum, hors d'oeuvres, a buffet dinner catered by Aroogas, door prizes, a silent auction and raffles. Tickets are $40 each, or $300 for a table of eight. Sponsorships are available starting at $100 for advertising in the event program. PAWS is accepting donated merchandise for the silent auction or raffles; all donors will receive event recognition.
