A horse found dead Friday in Tyrone Township, Adams County, might have been shot with an arrow, according to state police.
Trooper Victor Woerner said police first believed the animal was shot with a firearm but an autopsy by the owner, Patricia Anschuetz of New Oxford, indicated an arrow was more likely.
Anschuetz owned two horses on the 13-acre property in the 1800 block of Red Bridge Road, Woerner said.
Police estimate the horse died between Oct. 26 and Oct. 28. There are no suspects or leads so far in the investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at 334-8111.
