Pianist Adam Golka performs with York Symphony, for Logos students

Pianist Adam Golka will perform 11 a.m. Nov. 13 for Logos Academy middle school students at Asbury United Methodist Church, 340 E. Market St., York.

The York Symphony Orchestra has partnered with the Logos Academy to bring students the show. They will also have the opportunity to hear Golka's personal story and ask questions.

Golka, 22, of Texas, won the 2008 Gilmore Young Artist Award and the 2009 Max I. Allen Classical Fellowship Award of the American Pianists Association.

He performs with the York Symphony Orchestra during the Rachmaninoff Rocks concert at 8 p.m. Nov. 14 at the Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center, 50 N. George St., York. Odin Rathnam and Dr. Robert Hart Baker will also perform. Tickets range from $25 to $65. For details and tickets, visit www.strandcapitol.org.
