A contract ratification vote for Harley-Davidson's union workers in Springettsbury Township is scheduled for Dec. 2, with the doors opening at 7 a.m., the union said late last week.
Only active employees are allowed inside the Toyota Arena at the York Expo Center, where the vote is scheduled to take place. No retirees or laid-off workers are allowed, the union said.
Harley and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers are currently negotiating a new labor agreement for York vehicle operations.
The union's Local 175 represents about 2,000 workers making Touring and Softail motorcycles just off Route 30 in Springettsbury Township.
The contract is being negotiated early as Harley decides by the end of the year whether to stay in York County or move the manufacturing facilities to Shelbyville, Ky., to save costs.
