Police say charges are pending against two people after a man was pistol-whipped, beaten and robbed Tuesday while inside a Hanover apartment.

None of those involved in the 2 p.m. incident in the 300 block of Spring Avenue were immediately identified by police. And police did not specify what roles those to be charged might have played in the incident.

As of Wednesday, an investigation into the incident was continuing, according to a news release from the Hanover Borough Police Department.

Police say the 23-year-old man who was attacked and robbed is a resident of the Hanover area, and he had stopped at the Spring Avenue apartment to visit an acquaintance.

When he got there, two men who also are acquaintances with the victim, confronted him and told him they didn't want him hanging out at the apartment anymore, police said.

One of the men struck the victim in the head with a handgun that he suddenly displayed, police said. The victim was struck several times by the two assailants and suffered minor injuries consisting of contusions and abrasions, police said.

The two subjects took the victim's car keys, a lanyard, and a small amount of cash, then ordered him out of the apartment, police said.

The news release doesn't explain how police were alerted to the incident. No further information was immediately made available.
