HARRISBURG, Pa.—State officials have told five state workers to give back door prizes they won at a technology conference sponsored by Cisco Systems.

The Pennsylvania Office of Administration says the gifts, which included an iPod and $50 gift cards, violated ethics policies. Cisco has more than $10 million in contracts with the state.

Officials ordered the employees to give back the prizes from the April 3 trade show after the Patriot-News of Harrisburg asked about them.

About 20 state employees attended the Harrisburg Technology Trade Show on April 3.

The state policy on gifts says that employees shall not directly or indirectly solicit, accept or agree to accept any gift of money or goods that could influence their work.

Officials say they have reminded state employees they cannot accept door prizes at events like conferences.
