SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa.—Slippery Rock University has named Kevin Reynolds as the new head men's basketball coach.

Reynolds comes to Division II Slippery Rock after spending one year as an assistant coach at Division I Morehead State.

He replaces Jamal Palmer, who spent two seasons as Slippery Rock's head coach.

Before joining Morehead, Reynolds served two and a half seasons as an assistant coach and the last half of 2006-07 as interim head coach at the University of Denver.

Reynolds also served one season as director of basketball operations at Penn State.

Reynolds is a native of Bethlehem, Pa.

Slippery Rock was 7-20 (4-8 in PSAC-Western Division) in 2007-08 and didn't make the playoffs.
