A Verizon Wireless cell phone tower in Peach Bottom Township recently went online and should increase service in the area, the company said.

The township supervisors gave permission for Verizon to build the tower along Slateville Road about a year ago.

Verizon said the tower should increase reception in Delta and along roadways east of the borough.
