--- West Nile Virus Program, by the York Audubon Society, will be 7 p.m. Monday at Luther Memorial Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1907 Hollywood Drive, Spring Garden Township. Through a sight-and-sound presentation, Tom Smith, West Nile virus program coordinator with the Penn State Cooperative Extension, will share 2007 program data and explain what the virus is and how people can become infected.
For birders or anyone who spends time outside where exposure to mosquito bites is possible, this talk is a must. You'll learn how to protect yourself from bites, as well as what to do should you or someone you know become infected. Admission is free. For details, call 755-0740.
--- The Fruitbelt Farmworker Christian Ministry will hold its fifth annual FFCM dinner Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Biglerville. The dinner will highlight an evening dedicated to support of the ministry, which aids migrant workers in Adams, Franklin, Cumberland and Dauphin counties who contribute to the local economy.
Attendees will be able to enter bids for a silent auction beginning at 6 p.m., before the scheduled 6:30 p.m. dinner. To donate auction items, call the Rev. Runyan, director of the Fruitbelt Farmworker Christian Ministry, at 486-3291. All proceeds from the auction and the free-will offering at the dinner will be used for ministry support.
--- The 4-H Beef Club meets 7 p.m. the first Monday of each month at the 4-H
18 years old as of January. New members are welcome. Parents and guardians are encouraged to attend the 4-H club meetings with their children.
