The Rehoboth Welsh Chapel, Main and Pendyrus streets, Delta, will hold its Spring Homecoming Weekend events on Saturday and Sunday.
A Noson Lawen (Merry Evening) will be held Saturday night at Ferranti Ristorante in Delta, featuring a buffet meal and entertainment including The Boys from Innisfree, an Irish pub-style band. To attend, please call Glenn Grove at 456-7379.
A bilingual Welsh-English service will take place at the chapel at 11 a.m. Sunday. In the afternoon, a Gymanfa Ganu (guh-MAHN-va gah-nee), or Welsh Singing Festival, will be held at 2:30 p.m., conducted by Betty Cullingworth of Toronto, Canada.
Music will also be provided by soprano Catrin Davies, of Washington, D.C., and the Chapel's own Rehoboth Welsh Choir, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year.
The Gymanfa Ganu is a celebration of hymns sung in Welsh and English; prior knowledge of Welsh is not required! A te bach, or "little tea," will be served afterwards.
The Old Line Museum and Coulsontown quarrymen's cottages in Delta will also be open for visitors beginning at 1:30 p.m.
