A Hanover man has been charged with groping three women as they walked recently on borough streets.

Benjamin E. Martz, 30, of York Street, was charged with three counts of indecent assault. He was released Monday from York County Prison after posting $5,000 bail.

Hanover Borough Police said the first victim was walking April 22 on Eagle Avenue when Martz came up behind her, groped her between the legs, then ran away.

Then, on April 24, Martz grabbed a woman's hips and touched her genitals as she walked in the 600 block of High Street, charging documents state.

Monday, police said, Martz groped a third woman as she walked at Meade Avenue and Frederick Street. A witness saw the assault and called police while following the attacker, police said.

Police did not release the victims' names.

The second incident occurred on April 24, when a different woman was approached as she walked in the 600 block of High Street. The victim told police Martz grabbed her hips and touched her genital region, court papers show.

Another woman was walking on Meade Avenue and Frederick Street on Monday when police said Martz groped her.

A witness saw the assault and called police while following the suspect.

Martz was caught and charged in all assaults.
