I was shocked when I saw the news article in the York Daily Record (June 12) about the Lutheran Church "non-profit" $200 million-per-year business. It made me wonder if there is such a thing as "non-profit" business. And I realized that there isn't. Except for the very few which make no charges at all for their "services," or whatever else they provide without charge.
All this made me realize why there are "non-profit" businesses, which is to escape payment of business taxes.
That is what the churches have been doing all along, and they are still getting a "free ride" as "non-profit" business.
