The YAIAA track and field championships will be held this afternoon as scheduled at Dallastown Area High School, Dallastown athletic director Tory Harvey announced at noon.

There will be a meeting of coaches at 3:30 p.m. and the event will get under way at 4 p.m.

According to www.wunderground.com, today's rain will lessen throughout the day. Rain should be steady until about 2 p.m., when it will begin lessening. By 5 p.m., there is just a chance of light showers and by 8 p.m. the rain should be out of the Dallastown area.

The final event for the YAIAA championships is scheduled to go off at 9:30 p.m.
