The 12th member of this Penn State recruiting class is a quarterback from Philadelphia who may end up catching passes, not throwing them.

Curtis Drake, a 6-foot, 175-pound dual threat quarterback from West Catholic High, gave Penn State an oral commitment during a recruiting visit on Tuesday, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. He likely will be tried at receiver for the Nittany Lions.

Drake also had a scholarship offer from Northwestern and was attracting attention from Georgia Tech and Maryland.

"I'd rather be a quarterback," Drake told the Inquirer. "But if I have the opportunity to get on the field faster as a wide receiver, I'm fine with that."
