The York Revolution defeated the Somerset Patriots, 6-4, before 7,860 fans at TD Bank Ballpark on Friday evening.

York (28-40) did most of its scoring in the top of the third after shortstop Liu Rodriguez singled, catcher Josh Johnson singled, and center fielder Aharon Eggleston reached on an error that scored Rodriguez. Third baseman Matt Padgett then singled to bring home Eggleston and Johnson and came around to score on a wild pitch to give the Revs a 4-1 lead. Somerset cut the lead to 4-2 in the bottom of the fifth after a solo homerun by designated hitter Josh Pressley (15).

The Revolution added to their lead in the top of the eighth after Eggleston tripled and scored on an RBI triple by second baseman Keoni DeRenne. Padgett followed with an RBI double to put York up, 6-2.

The Patriots (42-26) cut the lead to 6-4 in the bottom of the eighth. Left fielder Elliott Ayala singled and scored on a two-run home run by Smith (8) down the left-field line.

York starter Bob Zimmerman (6-4) picked up the win, allowing four earned runs on six hits in seven innings. Patriots starter Joel Kirsten (0-1) suffered the loss, allowing five runs, one earned, on eight hits in seven-plus innings of work. Revolution closer Travis Phelps picked up his eighth save of the season.
