Sam Temple scored the only goal of the match with 34:27 remaining, lifting Dallastown to a 1-0 victory over Biglerville in the quarterfinals of the YAIAA girls' soccer tournament on Monday night at Northeastern High School.
The Wildcats (15-4-1) were dominant, outshooting the Canners, 16-1, and also holding Biglerville without a corner kick.
Hannah Lott was the main reason her team was still even early in the second half. The goalie finished with 15 saves for Biglerville (15-5-2).
The only shot Dallastown got past Lott came from Temple, who scored on Katie Austin's assist.
Dallastown will meet Central York in the all-Division I semifinals at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday on the Panthers' home field.
No details were available from the Panthers' quarterfinal victory over Eastern York on Monday night.
Spring Grove 4, York Suburban 0: Maggie Hoff scored three goals, all on assists from Katie Holtzapple, as the Division I champions dominated the Trojans in a quarterfinal at Central York High School.
Hoff scored the only goal the Rockets (15-3-2) would need on Holtzapple's pass with 7:29 remaining in the half. The pair would collaborate on Hoff's second score 9:01 into the second half.
Hoff returned the favor less than three minutes later, setting up Holtzapple for a score. Hoff completed her hat trick with 5:20 left in the match for the Rockets, who held Suburban
Spring Grove, the first-place team in Section 1, will take on Section 2 winner Susquehannock in the league semifinals at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Central York High School.
Susquehannock 8, Bermudian Springs 1: The Warriors charged into the second round behind Emily Reimold and Ashley Chilcoat, who scored three goals apiece.
Reimold also had an assist for Susquehannock (14-4), which scored five goals in the first half. The Warriors also got goals from Liz Surguy and Steph Rice.
Courtney Ebersole scored the lone goal for Bermudian Springs (14-3-1) in the first half.
