ALTOONA --Latrobe defeated Central York, 1-0, in 13 innings tonight in the PIAA Class AAAA semifinals at Altoona's Penn State campus.

Latrobe, the home team, scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the 13th inning on a single, followed by a pair of Central York errors on Latrobe bunts.

The Panthers left the bases loaded in the top of the 11th inning.

It was a pitching showdown between Latrobe senior Alexa Bryson and Central York freshman Lauren Walker, who both had double digits in strikeouts. Bryson, in fact, finished with a jaw-dropping 25 strikeouts.

Latrobe advances to Friday's state championship game at Shippensburg University.
