Ryan Janes led the York efforts with a seventh-place finish, good enough for all-conference first team honors. Jason Hinkle, an Eastern York grad, placed 10th to match his second-team all-CAC berth from last season.
Matt Provonche and Andrew Friesema ended up 18th and 19th, respectively.
Melody Parshall and Corie Thompson paced the women's third-place performance, garnering second-team all-CAC honors. Parshall, a senior, finished in ninth place while the sophomore Thompson was 15th, one spot ahead of teammate Tuesday Wilson (Eastern York).
York wrestling drops two: In College Park, Md., the Spartans were handed a pair of convincing losses by two Division I programs, dropping a 37-9 decision to Drexel University and a 57-0 whitewash to University of Maryland, who are ranked No. 10 nationally.
Paul Richards (174) and George Saliba (197) were the point scorers against the Dragons. Richards won by forfeit while Saliba earned a 7-4 decision over Jack Callender.
Elsewhere, at the Kings College Monarch Invitational, the Spartans finished sixth out of 10 teams with one wrestler reaching a final.
Red Lion grad Jerrid Hartman made the 125-pound championship bout but lost an 8-6 decision to Scott Mantua of Wilkes University. York's Jeff Snair finished third in the same
The Spartans' other place winners were John Starcevich, who finished third at 197, and Zach Downing, who was sixth at 165.
