The Rotary Club of York will offer veterans a chance to practice interviewing skills, receive feedback on their resumes and network with area businesses at the club's Veteran's Day meeting.

Many Rotarians are veterans, said club president Michele McKnight Baker, and they see this as a chance to repay the efforts of former service members.

"We're very appreciative of the service our veterans have performed for the community," Baker said. "It's something small, but meaningful that we can give them."

The meeting will feature guest speaker Maj. Gen. Robert M. Williams, commandant of the U.S. Army War College.

The Rotary Club has established a committee that will advise veterans, Baker said. While the Rotary has always supported veterans, Baker said, the club felt it was important to offer this advice since the job market is so tight.

Veterans should bring their resumes with them and dress in business attire.

The meeting will be 11:30 a.m. Nov. 11 at the Yorktowne Hotel. Interested veterans should contact Stacy Kyle at 763-0968, ext. 115, or stacy.kyle@veteransresourcecentral.org by Tuesday.
